NADD Plans Healthcare Public Policy Forum

In NADD’s continuing efforts to ensure that persons with co-occurring Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and mental illness receive the quality of care necessary for successful community- based living, NADD has organized an invitational Public Policy Forum to be held on October 20, 2014 in Bethesda, Maryland. The Policy Forum will focus on the NADD Public Policy Position Paper titled, “Including Individuals with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities and Co-Occurring Mental Illness: Challenges that Must Be Addressed in Health Care Reform” (click here to read and/or endorse the Position Paper as well as to see which organizations and individuals have endorsed the Position Paper).

NADD has assembled an impressive spectrum of stakeholders who will be participating at our Policy Forum. The stakeholders include representatives from associations, providers, advocates, managed care companies, federal government, as well as parents. Click here for the schedule/agenda.

The morning session will offer an opportunity for the diverse and varied stakeholders to share their perspectives as they relate to the NADD Public Policy Position Paper while the aim of the afternoon session is to develop a strategic plan on ways to advance and implement the goals and recommendations as stated in the NADD Position Paper.
