“When I heard Frank Menolascino speak in Akron, Ohio in the early 80’s, he changed my entire world view regarding people with developmental disabilities. From him I learned that what we saw as behavioral issues could be true mental health challenges that needed both medication and counseling to help the person succeed in community living.  His views and knowledge of persons with IDD were so impressive and immense that I quickly sought out membership in NADD and forever became a disciple of his message. Receiving the NADD Frank J. Menolascino Award was truly an immense honor for me.”
