Purpose of the Award
The NADD Innovation and Excellence Award was introduced in 2024 to recognize outstanding contributions that drive innovation and excellence in services for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) and co-occurring mental health needs. This award honors individuals, teams, or organizations that have developed groundbreaking approaches, programs, or initiatives that significantly enhance the quality of life for this population.
Criteria for Selection
Recipients of this award demonstrate a commitment to advancing best practices, fostering system change, and improving access to comprehensive and effective supports.
The deadline to submit nominations is March 1, 2026.

Submission Guidelines
All nominations must include:
- A detailed description (up to 1,000 words) of how the member has contributed and what the impact has been.
- The candidate’s curriculum vitae or resume
- Letter of recommendation (if self-nominated, two recommendation letters are needed)
- Candidate’s contact information, including name, address, telephone number, fax number, and email address
- Nominator’s contact information, including name, address, telephone number, fax number, and email address
